Pelc-Lohr, a 50-year-old woman from Brushton, whose life came to a tragic and heartbreaking end in an incident that has left loved ones and the surrounding community searching for answers. Her death is the subject of an ongoing police investigation, and the circumstances surrounding this tragedy remain under review.
On Tuesday morning, New York State Police responded to a call at a residence on South Woods Road in Moira, a small town in Franklin County, approximately 15 miles west of Malone. Upon arriving at the home, troopers discovered Melissa’s body. Authorities reported that she had suffered two gunshot wounds. The discovery marked the beginning of an investigation into the tragic circumstances of her death.
Following their initial investigation, police identified a red Chevrolet Silverado driven by Norman Lohr as a vehicle potentially connected to the case. At approximately 10:30 a.m., troopers spotted a vehicle matching that description in the town of Lyons, more than 200 miles from Moira, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
According to state police, the driver did not comply and led officers on a pursuit. The chase ended after police deployed tire-deflation devices. Despite repeated commands to exit the vehicle, Norman Lohr remained inside. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office subsequently used an armored vehicle to approach the truck, where authorities discovered Lohr dead. He was also 50 years old and was from Michigan.
Both Melissa and Norman were transported to medical examiners’ offices for autopsies. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to establish the full circumstances surrounding both deaths.
