With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of 46-year-old Luke Weaver, whose life was tragically cut short in a shooting at an apartment on Madison’s southwest side.
Luke Weaver was identified by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office as the man found deceased inside an apartment on Wednesday. His unexpected death has brought sadness and sorrow as questions remain surrounding the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking tragedy.
According to the Madison Police Department, officers were called to an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Raymond Road after the property manager discovered an individual deceased inside one of the apartments. Upon responding to the scene, investigators determined that Weaver had suffered a gunshot wound.
Authorities are investigating his death as a homicide and believe the shooting was a targeted incident. The medical examiner’s office has stated that the cause and manner of death are still being determined as the investigation continues.
As of Thursday morning, no arrests had been announced. The Madison Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Weaver’s death and working to establish what happened.
While investigators continue searching for answers, a life has been lost, and those who knew and loved Luke are left to face the pain of his sudden absence. No words can fully express the heartbreak that comes with losing someone unexpectedly, especially under such tragic circumstances.
