In Loving Memory of Abreham Michael Beyene: Remembering a Life Lost Too Soon

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we remember Abreham Michael Beyene, 49, of Schuyler, Nebraska, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal hit-and-run crash. His passing has left a deep sense of sorrow within his family and the community, reminding us of how suddenly life can change and how deeply one loss can affect the lives of so many.

Abreham’s death has brought grief to those who knew and loved him. Although the circumstances surrounding this tragedy are heartbreaking, his memory deserves to be honored with compassion, dignity, and respect. Behind every tragic loss is a family left to navigate an unimaginable emptiness, holding on to precious memories while facing a future without someone they love. As his family mourns, the community shares in their sorrow and extends its heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.

The Schuyler Police Department worked diligently to investigate the fatal crash, following up on information gathered through community interviews and developing a suspect. Investigators identified the vehicle’s owner as 62-year-old Daniel Reynoso of Columbus, Nebraska. Working alongside the Columbus Police Department, officers located a Ford F-150 pickup near Reynoso’s residence with damage consistent with debris recovered at the crash scene.

On October 26, 2026, Platte County deputies located Reynoso in Lindsay, Nebraska, at approximately 1:26 p.m. During a subsequent interview with Schuyler investigators, after being advised of his Miranda rights, Reynoso acknowledged being involved in an accident and made admissions that he had fled the scene. Investigators later served a search warrant at a Columbus residence, recovering a white 2005 Ford F-150.

Reynoso was arrested and remanded to the Platte County Jail on charges of failing to stop and render aid in a crash involving serious injury or death, a Class III felony under Nebraska law, and tampering with physical evidence, a Class IV felony.

The Schuyler Police Department expressed gratitude to the local business community, Nebraska State Patrol, Colfax County Sheriff’s Office, Platte County Sheriff’s Office, and Columbus Police Department for their assistance in bringing the investigation to a conclusion.

While investigative efforts have reached this stage, the pain of losing Abreham remains immeasurable. No arrest can erase the grief his loved ones must endure or restore the future that was taken away. His family deserves compassion, support, and time to grieve as they begin the difficult journey of learning to live with this loss.

Rest in peace, Abreham Michael Beyene. May your memory continue to live in the hearts of your family, friends, and everyone whose life you touched. May those who mourn your passing find strength in their memories, comfort in the love surrounding them, and peace in the days ahead. You will be remembered, and your life will not be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to Abreham’s family and loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace.
