The community of Wall Township, New Jersey is mourning the death of Dave Quisumbing, affectionately known by many as “DQ,” whose passing has left friends, coworkers, and loved ones across the Jersey Shore bar and restaurant scene heartbroken.

Originally from Carteret, New Jersey, Dave later lived in Eatontown and became widely recognized for his vibrant personality, unforgettable smile, and energy behind the bar. Known through his work connected to Dairy Queen and the local nightlife industry, Dave built lasting friendships with countless people who described him as someone capable of making any room brighter the moment he walked in.

Friends shared emotional tributes remembering his larger-than-life presence and contagious spirit. Mike Healey reflected on recently seeing Dave and recalled his excitement about summer gatherings at Bar A, while Anthony Alagona described his energy as “contagious” and said he “always had a smile.” Others remembered the memories shared during nights out, party bus trips, and years spent working in the hospitality industry together.

Louis Pisano wrote that “Heaven just gained the greatest bartender to ever live,” a sentiment echoed by many grieving his sudden passing.
