IN LOVING MEMORY: CARL HINKLE
The Labette County community is mourning the tragic and sudden loss of Carl Hinkle, 69, of Walnut Shade, Missouri, who lost his life following a motorcycle crash on U.S. 400 on Saturday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. when a 2005 Harley-Davidson was traveling westbound approximately one mile east of U.S. 169. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and overturned.
Carl Hinkle was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Labette Health Hospital. Despite efforts by medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased approximately three hours later due to the severity of his injuries.
Troopers reported that Hinkle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
His passing has left family, friends, and the broader community in deep sorrow as they come to terms with the sudden and heartbreaking loss. Those who knew him are remembering him not only for his presence in their lives, but also for the memories shared and the impact he made over the years. His absence leaves an emptiness that will be felt deeply by all who loved him.
