The community of Alliance is mourning the tragic death of Ashley Ross after she was found deceased Wednesday morning inside a residence on West Ely Street. Authorities have since identified her husband, Robert Andre Ross, as the primary suspect in the homicide investigation and say he remains at large as a multi-agency manhunt continues.

According to investigators, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call around 8:45 a.m. from two children who reported finding Ashley Ross unresponsive inside a bedroom at the family’s home in the 300 block of West Ely Street. The children, whose identities and ages have not been publicly released, reportedly told dispatchers that she would not wake up and appeared seriously injured.

Responding officers from the Alliance Police Department arrived alongside emergency medical personnel and discovered Ashley Ross deceased inside the residence. Authorities later confirmed the case was being investigated as a homicide. Her body was transported to the Stark County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy is expected to determine the official cause and manner of death.

During a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Alliance Police Chief Roger L. Miller described the case as a devastating tragedy for both the family and the wider community.
