In Loving Memory of Carlique Miller, 21: A Young Life Tragically Cut Short in Troy, Alabama

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we remember Carlique Miller, 21, of Dothan, Alabama, whose young life was tragically taken in a fatal shooting in Troy, Alabama. His unexpected passing has brought heartbreak to his family, friends, loved ones, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. At just 21 years old, Carlique had so much life ahead of him, with dreams yet to be fulfilled, opportunities waiting to unfold, and countless memories still to be made.

According to the Troy Police Department, officers responded to the 600 block of Elm Street on October 29, 2026, at approximately 10:41 p.m., following a report that someone may have been shot.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive individual suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Police immediately began performing CPR in an effort to save the victim’s life. Sadly, despite their efforts, the individual could not be revived. The victim was later identified as 21-year-old Carlique Miller of Dothan.

Authorities confirmed that two individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. The investigation remains active as law enforcement works to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.

The Troy University Police, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Pike County Coroner’s Office, and District Attorney’s Office are assisting the Troy Police Department with the investigation.
