Foreman’s hockey journey began as a player within the Montreal Canadiens organization, where he competed at the juvenile and junior levels. He was part of the St. Boniface Canadiens squad that reached the Memorial Cup final during the 1952–53 season, marking an early highlight in his sporting career.

An injury the following season, in which he broke his leg, brought his time as a player to an abrupt end. He soon transitioned into coaching, taking on leadership roles with several minor hockey teams, including the Spartans, Excelsiors and Riverview programs, where he helped develop young talent and foster a passion for the game.

Beyond the rink, Foreman made a lasting impact through his professional work in financial services. When the Winnipeg Jets entered the World Hockey Association, he was called upon to advise players on financial matters. Over time, his guidance supported more than 100 professional athletes in building financial stability after their playing careers ended.

Foreman also played a role in the business side of hockey. During the period when the Jets operated as a community-owned franchise, he served as one of 52 directors overseeing the team’s management. In 1983, he joined a group that acquired the Fort Garry Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, renaming it the Winnipeg South Blues.

He went on to serve as president of the club for eight years and remained active on its board for nearly two decades, including leading fundraising efforts that helped sustain the organisation. Foreman is being remembered for his lifelong dedication to hockey and his commitment to supporting players both on and off the ice.
