IN LOVING MEMORY OF KATIE WILLIS, 35 — GONE TOO SOON, FOREVER REMEMBERED

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of 35-year-old Katie Willis, whose life was tragically cut short in a devastating crash Friday morning in Unicoi County, Tennessee.

Katie lost her life in a collision on Interstate 26 near mile marker 45, leaving behind a heartbreaking loss for those who knew and loved her. What began as an ordinary Friday morning turned into an unimaginable tragedy, as a sudden crash claimed a life that still had so much ahead of it.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Katie was driving a Honda Pilot eastbound on Interstate 26 in the right lane. A Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling ahead of her at a slower speed because of the uphill grade. As the Honda approached the truck, it did not slow down or move into the left lane before striking the rear of the tractor-trailer.

Tragically, Katie, who was driving the Honda, was killed in the collision. The driver of the Kenworth tractor-trailer was not injured.

Behind every life lost is a story, a family, and people whose hearts are forever changed. Katie was more than a name in a traffic report. She was a person whose life mattered, whose presence held meaning, and whose absence will be deeply felt by those who cherished her.
