The fatal collision occurred Friday morning on I-81 northbound near mile marker 47.1 in South Middleton Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a tractor-trailer driven by David Rodis Lynn III, of Round Rock, Texas, failed to stop for slowing traffic and struck another vehicle. The impact triggered a chain-reaction crash involving seven vehicles. During the collision, the tractor-trailer and another vehicle caught fire, creating a devastating scene and leaving multiple people injured.

The Cumberland County Coroner’s Office identified Jessica Moore as the person who lost her life in the crash. Her cause of death remains pending an autopsy. Other occupants involved in the collision were transported to Holy Spirit Hospital and UPMC Carlisle for treatment of their injuries.

Authorities have stated that the truck driver will face a charge of homicide by motor vehicle in connection with the crash. The investigation and legal process will determine the circumstances and responsibility surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
