Rylee Montgomery Death and Obituary; Pregnant Teen Dies in Buckeye Shooting, Arizona, United States
The community of Buckeye is mourning the tragic loss of 16-year-old Rylee Montgomery, who was killed in a shooting outside a home on Thursday night. Her death has left family members, friends, and residents devastated, as the incident also left two other victims critically injured.
According to Buckeye police, officers responded to reports of gunfire near Rooks and Broadway roads around 8:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they found three female victims, ranging in age from 16 to 22, suffering from gunshot wounds. Rylee Montgomery, who was pregnant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other victims—a 17-year-old girl, also reported to be pregnant, and a 22-year-old woman—were transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition. Authorities say the situation remains serious as medical teams continue efforts to stabilize them.
Investigators reported that two men were seen fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting. An 18-year-old suspect, identified as Michael Sanchez, was later taken into custody in Avondale with assistance from U.S. Marshals and local police following a SWAT operation. He is currently facing multiple felony charges as the investigation continues.
As news of the tragedy spreads, Rylee Montgomery is being remembered as a young life taken far too soon. The Buckeye community continues to grieve while offering support and prayers to her family and to the other victims still fighting for their lives.
