Downtown Goshen Shooting Under Investigation After Woman Injured
A woman was injured in a shooting that took place in downtown Goshen on Monday afternoon, prompting a swift police response and an ongoing investigation led by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.
According to the Goshen Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m. to the intersection of Clinton Street and 3rd Street following multiple reports of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived on scene, they located a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency personnel provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Her current condition has not been publicly released.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect fled the area before officers arrived, leaving the scene prior to law enforcement contact. Despite the initial escape, investigators were able to quickly gather witness statements, including descriptions of the suspect’s vehicle.
