Carla Obuck Obituary, Calgary, AB Death – In Loving Memory

The Auburn Bay community is grieving the loss of Carla Obuck, longtime community leader and President of the Auburn Bay Community Association, whose passing has left many heartbroken.

For years, Carla gave so much of herself to Auburn Bay. As one of the founding members of the Community Association and a dedicated volunteer with the Resident’s Association, she worked tirelessly to help build the strong sense of community residents know today. Her passion for bringing people together could be seen in nearly every major event and initiative that made Auburn Bay feel like home for so many families.

Carla played an important role in organizing some of the community’s most loved traditions, including the Stampede Breakfast, the Parade of Lights, and the Community Gardens. Those who worked alongside her say her determination, energy, and love for the neighborhood were often what kept these events going year after year.

But beyond all of her contributions, Carla will be remembered most for the kind of person she was. She was caring, welcoming, and deeply thoughtful — someone who genuinely cared about the people around her. Whether she was volunteering her time, helping a neighbor, or simply sharing a conversation, Carla made people feel valued and included.

Her passing is being felt deeply throughout Auburn Bay, where many residents considered her not just a community leader, but also a friend.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor Carla’s life on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at A&W Auburn Bay. At the family’s request, $2 from every combo sold, including third-party app orders, will be donated to the Auburn Bay Community Association. Cash donations made during the event will also be matched in support of the causes Carla cared about so deeply.

Carla leaves behind her husband, Darrel, and their two children, Alexandrea (Alex) and Matthew, along with a community that will continue to remember her kindness, leadership, and the lasting impact she made on countless lives.
