Erubey Romero Medina & Daniel Jimenez Millian Death, Obituary: WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A tragic outbreak of violence at Leinbach Park on Monday morning has left two teenagers dead and several others injured, after what authorities say began as a planned fight and escalated into a mass shooting.

According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:52 a.m. following reports of a fight in progress at the park. While officers were en route, additional emergency calls indicated that gunfire had erupted and multiple individuals had been shot.

Preliminary findings from investigators suggest that the incident stemmed from a pre-arranged confrontation involving juveniles. When the groups met at the park, the situation quickly spiraled out of control, leading to an exchange of gunfire in a public space.

Upon arrival, officers encountered chaos, with individuals fleeing the area in multiple directions. In the parking lot, police discovered 17-year-old Erubey Romero Medina suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim, 16-year-old Daniel Jimenez Millian, was located further inside the park, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, he too was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that a total of seven people were struck by gunfire. Additional victims were found nearby in the parking lot of 3474 Robinhood Road, where several individuals sustained injuries ranging from critical to minor. Those injured include multiple teenagers and young adults, though their identities have not been released.

Investigators noted that some of the injured individuals may have been involved in the exchange of gunfire. Detectives are actively working to determine each person’s role and to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with law enforcement officials gathering evidence, reviewing witness statements, and reconstructing the timeline.

Police are urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to rely on official updates as more details emerge. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Winston-Salem Police Department or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.

As the investigation continues, the Winston-Salem community is left grappling with the devastating loss of young lives and the impact of violence that unfolded in a matter of moments.
