The family of Tiru Chabba is expected to file a lawsuit connected to the 2025 mass shooting at Florida State University, according to attorneys representing the family.
Chabba, a 45-year-old father of two from Greenville, was one of two people killed during the April 17, 2025 shooting on the FSU campus in Tallahassee. Six others were injured in the attack.
Attorneys from Strom Law Firm announced they will hold a press conference on Monday, May 11, 2026, to formally discuss the lawsuit. The firm has not yet publicly identified who or what entity will be named in the legal action.
According to reports, Chabba was working for campus dining vendor Aramark Collegiate Hospitality at the time of the shooting. Authorities identified the suspected gunman as Phoenix Ikner, who was taken into custody following the attack.
The case continues to draw attention as questions remain surrounding campus safety, security procedures, and accountability related to the tragedy.
