Steve Tessmer Obituary, Davison, MI Death – In Loving Memory Of A Beloved Soul
Steven Mark Tessmer, 68, of Davison, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Known for his warmth, dedication, and unwavering commitment to family and community, Steven leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion.
Born in Flint on July 17, 1957, to Arthur and Phyllis (Brousseau) Tessmer, Steven married Nancy Gross on June 11, 1976, in Davison. Together, they shared nearly 50 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and the joy of raising two daughters. Steven was a devoted father and grandfather, often delighting in his grandchildren, Skylar, Logan, Steven, Jack, and Cecelia, and cherishing family vacations and shared memories.
From a young age, Steven demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, joining his father in autobody repair at age 15. He carried on the family tradition, eventually owning Wolverine Autobody Repair Shop and Soggy Bottom Bar in Flint. Those who knew him remember his generosity, his infectious spirit, and the way he made everyone feel like family, whether at home, at the bar, or in his collision shop.
Steven is survived by his wife, Nancy Tessmer; daughters Kristy (R.J.) Munger and Shana (Andrew) Aguirre; siblings Michael Tessmer, Carol (Robert) Bradley, and Cathy Tessmer; sisters-in-law Cindy Tessmer, Debbie Tessmer, and Beverly Sargent; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Gary Tessmer, Danny Tessmer, and Connie Diehl, and sister-in-law Marcia Tessmer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, Michigan. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Steven’s warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community will be deeply missed. He leaves behind a community forever touched by his presence.
