Family and friends are mourning the unexpected passing of Sharon J. (Hummel) Mink, who died on May 5, 2026, at the age of 49. A resident of Swisshelm Park, Sharon was known for her devotion to family, her strong work ethic, and the kindness she shared with everyone around her.
Born on July 7, 1976, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Lorraine Hummel and the late Joseph Hummel. She grew up surrounded by family and lifelong relationships that remained deeply important to her throughout her life.
Sharon was the beloved wife of Timothy Mink and a proud, loving mother to Olivia and Luke Mink. Her family was the foundation of her life, and she embraced motherhood with unconditional love, care, and dedication. Those closest to her say she always put her family first and found her greatest happiness in the time spent with them.
In addition to her husband and children, Sharon is survived by her sister, Melissa Jenesky, and brother-in-law Denny of Harrison City. She was also a devoted aunt to Ava and Caroline Jenesky and maintained close ties with extended family members and a wide circle of friends.
Sharon graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Accounting, a path that led her into a successful professional career. She was admired for her intelligence, determination, and professionalism. Outside of work, Sharon proudly supported her beloved Penn State Nittany Lions and remained a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Loved ones remember Sharon as compassionate, thoughtful, and deeply caring. She had a natural ability to bring comfort and encouragement to others, and her loss leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family has chosen to hold private arrangements in accordance with Sharon’s wishes. Services are entrusted to the Thomas L. Nied Funeral Home, Inc., located at 7441 Washington Street in Swissvale.
Though her passing was unexpected, Sharon’s love, strength, and memory will continue to live on through her family and everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
