It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved son, Jack Clayville, who died on May 3 in Cancun, Mexico. Jack embraced life with a rare passion and joy that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He lived with genuine selflessness and a deep commitment to helping others. Tragically, Jack lost his life after being electrocuted while trying to save a friend from the same danger—a final act that reflected the courage and compassion that defined him.
Jack now reunites with his birth mother, Holly, far sooner than his family could have ever imagined. Those who loved him—including his parents, siblings, girlfriend Emily, extended family, and countless friends—are left grieving the loss of a bright spirit taken far too soon. In his 25 years, Jack created a lifetime of unforgettable memories filled with laughter, adventure, and love. His absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him, including family, friends, coworkers, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
A memorial service to honor Jack’s life will be held at The Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum on Friday, May 15, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by an open house at the family home. A second celebration of Jack’s life will take place in Austin on May 21 at 5:30 p.m., with location details to be shared soon.
In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jack Clayville Foundation, which is currently being established to honor Jack’s legacy and continue the spirit of generosity that defined his life. Additional information about the foundation will be shared as it becomes available.
Jack will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
